Let somebody else do it. It’s their job.

My new house is almost finished, and the experience of moving made me wonder about this.

You can think of doing a move by yourself, essentially to spare money. But if you can afford to do it with professionals, you’ll agree about the reasons:

1. They have tools.
   Trying to do a job without the right tools is frustrating, annoying and also dangerous sometimes. Often, when you ask yourself why you can’t do something at a professional quality, the answer lies in some tool you don’t know about, that professionals use.
2. They have a method.
   It is barely possible that you have developed a method for everything. So, when you face a challenge for the first time, you’re building up your method by trials and errors, on your own shoulders. But, if you’re not a nomad, you maybe will have fully tested and developed a method for a move, when you are going to do The Last Move.
3. They are paid for it.
   And you’re not! It seems obvious, but when you are paid for a job, your perception of time changes, and while you face the perspective of doing a move as a task that is going to last an undefined number of hours, until it’s done, they will face it as a 8 hours work. You are worried with tons of other problems (address change, where do you leave the children, the house is not ready…) and they’re not. You are using your precious free time, and they are earning their day. And this changes everything

So, when you are planning to build your own website… why don’t you ask a professional to do it? It’s exactly the same thing.

And we can add a #4 reason, which maybe moving professionals can’t:
